This policy explains what personal data is collected within the game "The Ages of Carcassonne", why, and what your rights are. We process your data with respect and transparency, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller
Name / entity: Enrique VALVERDE
Status: Particular
Address: Villedubert 11800
Contact: carcassonne.online@gmail.com
Company ID (if applicable): Non applicable
2. What data is collected?
When you choose to leave your details at the end of an age of the game, we collect:
your e-mail address;
your questionnaire answers (declared geographic origin, visit intention, travel profile, stay and dining preferences, accommodation type, planned duration);
minimal technical data: the language chosen and the date of your reply.
The game also uses your browser's local storage to save your progress and preferences. This information stays on your device.
3. Why is this data collected? (purposes)
To notify you when the next ages of the game open and send your "pass";
To save and continue your progress;
To produce aggregated, anonymous statistics on visit intentions in Carcassonne (e.g. charts by origin or intention). These statistics may be made public; they never allow you to be re-identified;
Only if you tick the dedicated optional box: to send you offers from local tourism partners (hoteliers, restaurateurs, shopkeepers of Carcassonne).
4. Legal basis
Processing is based on your consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR), given freely when you enter your e-mail and tick the relevant boxes. Consent for partner offers is separate, optional and unticked by default.
5. Who has access to your data?
The data controller named above;
The website host, for technical storage: HOSTINGER INTERNATIONAL LTD, 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Chypre;
Local partners, only if you consented — and without your address being transferred to them: partner messages are sent by us, on their behalf.
Your personal data is never sold. Only aggregated, anonymised statistics may be shared or published.
6. How long is it kept?
Your data is kept until you unsubscribe, and for no more than 3 years after your last interaction, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise them, write to: carcassonne.online@gmail.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL — www.cnil.fr).
8. Cookies and local storage
The game uses no advertising cookies or third-party trackers. It only uses your browser's local storage for game saves and preferences.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration.
